Welcome and the beginning

So, after being together for 6.5 years and married for almost 3 of them we decided that it is almost time to have a kid. We had done lots of travelling, worked hard, had fun together, had fun with friends. We have one fatty cat George, and a car that is definitely family friendly. We had moved from one side of the world to the other (well he asked and I followed him back here), survived 3 years of him working away, my unemployment issues when we move here during the GFC, and other unmentionable family stuff. Now we are ready to add one to our cosy bubble. We had always talked about wanting kids, there was no doubt in his mind that he would be having some, and no doubt in my mind that if I were to choose to have kids they would only be his.  And then in the last, I would say, year we felt ready. So here we are, embarking on a journey we don’t fully understand with best hopes and as much knowledge as one can read up from a million books we I am reading.
